Mastery Strategy

Build the interactional fluency required for C2 Proficiency

The C2 Speaking exam tests whether you can use English spontaneously and flexibly across a variety of tasks. At this level, examiners are looking for nuanced opinions and natural discourse markers.

Treat each part as a different register: conversational in Part 1, formal in Part 2, collaborative in Part 3, and analytical in Part 4.

Recommended weekly rhythm

Part 1: Daily 90-second interview response recordings.

Part 2: Timed 1-minute photo comparisons aloud.

Part 3: Practise arguing both sides of a mind-map prompt.

Part 4: Summarise opinion articles out loud in 3 sentences.

Use a wide variety of structures, from simple to highly complex, with minimal errors.

Lexical Resource
