Subject pronouns

Use I, you, he, she, it, we and they to say who or what does an action without repeating the same noun.

Choose the right pronoun

Use a pronoun when you do not want to repeat a noun.

  • Maria is my sister. She is 20.
  • The keys are on the table. They are mine.
  • My cat is small. It is very friendly.

He, she and it

  • Use he for a man or boy.

  • Use she for a woman or girl.

  • Use it for a thing, an animal when the sex is not important, the weather or the time.

  • It is cold today.

  • It is three o'clock.

Common mistakes

  • Me am from Spain.I am from Spain.
  • My parents is here.They are here.
  • The book is interesting. He is new.The book is interesting. It is new.
