Cambridge Reading practice

Develop the speed, inference, and structural awareness needed for Cambridge C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency Reading.

Strategic reading

Build the skills Cambridge Reading rewards

Detailed meaning

Read one long text and answer detailed questions about meaning, attitude, opinion, tone, and implication.

Text cohesion

Rebuild the structure of a text by matching missing paragraphs to the correct gaps.

Rapid scanning

Scan several short texts and match statements to the section where each idea appears.

Exam navigation

Practise reading under realistic pressure while keeping track of accuracy and timing.

Free Cambridge Reading practice for C1 Advanced (CAE) and C2 Proficiency (CPE) trains the skills the paper actually rewards: detailed meaning, text cohesion, rapid scanning, and calm navigation under time pressure. Interactive texts come with answers and review so each attempt produces a clear next step.

Choose the exam level you will sit first. C1 Advanced consolidates long-form comprehension and multiple matching at Advanced difficulty. C2 Proficiency pushes denser argument, tighter paraphrase control, and faster elimination of distractors.

After every practice set, log why wrong options looked plausible. Most Reading marks are lost to partial reading of the stem, not to “unknown words.” Retest the same part type until accuracy stops swinging wildly between sessions.

Pair reading work with C1 Vocabulary or C2 Vocabulary, and use the C2 Reading guide when you need strategy before more volume.
