Co-working spacePart 5

"Co-working space" is a Cambridge C2 Proficiency Reading Part 5 practice exam (Multiple-Choice Cloze). This paper rewards close reading, inference and awareness of text organisation. Work under timed conditions when possible — the combined Reading and Use of English paper allows 90 minutes across Parts 1–7. After completing the exercise, use review mode to understand why each answer is correct and note any vocabulary or discourse patterns you missed.

I work from home most days, but recently I started using a co-working space once a week because builders were making a lot of (21) in my building. I expected the place to feel formal, but the atmosphere is quite (22). If I have a simple technical problem, another member often knows how to (23) it. I do not go every day because the daily price would (24) up. One day there helps me (25) more clearly and gives me social contact. For me, it provides a good (26) between working alone and returning to a traditional office. The experience has also made me notice small practical details that I did not think about before. I now plan a little more carefully and enjoy the activity more because I understand what to expect. This extra experience also helped me understand the activity better and made the next attempt easier to organise.
