Work under timed conditions when possible — the combined Reading and Use of English paper allows 90 minutes across Parts 1–7. After completing the exercise, use review mode to understand why each answer is correct and note any vocabulary or discourse patterns you missed.

Our neighbourhood garden started three years ago when several residents became interested (27) growing food together. The council offered us a small piece of unused land, (28) had previously been covered with grass. There were (29) few tools at first that the community centre bought some more for us. The garden is much busier now (30) it was in the first year. A weekly Saturday session has (31) running since last spring. We sometimes cancel because (32) safety when the weather is terrible. The change has become part of my normal routine, and I now notice the benefits more clearly than I did at the beginning. It has also encouraged me to plan ahead and make small practical improvements. The routine now feels normal, and I find it easier to plan each week.
