Mapping Local Food
A group of volunteers in one city has created an online map showing where locally produced food can be bought. The project began when its organisers realised that (9) ________ was no simple list of small independent producers. They contacted farms, bakeries and market stalls and asked (10) ________ or not they would like to appear on the map. Businesses do not have to pay, provided the products they list contain ingredients (11) ________ the surrounding region. Users can search according (12) ________ product type or location. The map has become useful for visitors as (13) ________ as residents. It also gives small producers a way of reaching customers who might never have come (14) ________ them before. Because information can become outdated, every entry is checked at least once (15) ________ year. The organisers say the project will continue for as long as people find it useful, and they hope other towns will develop similar maps of their (16) ________.
