Harbourton: ignore the old reputation
We often have a tendency to buy into what everyone else thinks or the (17) ________ image of things without ever directly experiencing them or finding out for ourselves. Indeed, my original (18) ________ of the harbour town of old Harbourton is a perfect case in point. The blogs’ portrayal of the town as solely the quiet refuge of retired sailors is, as I found out on a recent weekend there, plainly (19) ________. Indeed, it is only outsiders who have this horribly (20) ________ perception and most residents consider themselves (21) ________ fortunate to reside in their quiet coastal home. And now that I have spent some proper time there, my opinion of the town has definitely shifted (22) ________, such that it is now more or less in line with the locally held view. Take, for example, the supposedly dull district of West Harbour. While there are (23) ________ some empty warehouses beside the docks, move (24) ________ but a few streets and you are rewarded with a lively independent quarter. And that is before an exploration of some of the town’s hidden corners has even commenced. Indeed, the districts are collectively and without exception a curious visitor’s delight.
